Of the seven dog breeds attributed to Switzerland, four of these come under the title of Swiss mountain or “cattle dogs”. In decreasing size, they are:

    The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.                          The Bernese.  

          The Appenzeller.                                                    The Entlebucher.
