The Appenzeller Mountain Dog

General Appearance

A medium sized, almost squarely built dog. Balanced and muscular with a characteristic curled tailed.


Important Proportions

Height at shoulders to length of body = 9:10

Length of muzzle to length of skull = 4:5    


Size

19-22.5 inches to the shoulder.

Weight: 28-35 kg.


Temperament

A lively, high spirited dog. Self-assured, fearless and reliable. Suspicious of strangers. Extremely quick witted with a keen inherited urge to act independently.
